Book early
Most matric dances in Gauteng fall between August and November, and many schools hold theirs on the same Friday or Saturday nights. Slots on those days go quickly, so book as soon as you know the date.
Planning the look
Bring a photo of the dress, especially the neckline and back, and two or three styles you like. Long, flowing curls suit open backs; an upstyle shows off a high or detailed neckline. A half-up style is a good in-between.
Trial run
A trial a few weeks before lets you see the style, test accessories and make changes without the pressure of the day. It's a good idea if you've never had your hair professionally styled.
On the day
Come with clean, dry hair unless Bev advises otherwise, wear a button-up top so you don't pull anything over your head, and bring any hair accessories. Bev will finish with a hold that lasts through the dancing.
